Teen Volunteers

Did you know that Camp Nefesh was founded by a teenager? This teenager was passionate about immigrant and refugee rights as well as youth empowerment. After volunteering at a similar summer camp in Seattle, this teen brought the idea to Sacramento and made it a reality. We want to keep Camp Nefesh teen run and led in order to inspire other teenagers to take action for what they believe in as well. We are always on the look out for teenagers who want to be leaders and volunteers at Camp Nefesh. If you'd like to help in a way that isn't listed below, feel free to contact us!

Counselors

We are looking for teen counselors to supervise, lead, and be role models for our campers. Upon receiving your application, you will be contacted for an interview to take place at Congregation B'nai Israel. If you are not chosen as a counselor for Camp Nefesh, don't be discouraged! There are many other ways you can help Camp Nefesh. Our summer 2019 session has come to a close, but check back soon for application postings for summer 2020!

Program Leaders

Is there a special program you'd like to bring to Camp Nefesh? We'd love to hear about it! Maybe you'd like to teach volleyball or maybe you'd like to lead a music class. Whatever it is, we'd love to incorporate your talents into our camp! Please contact us if you are interested in becoming a program leader.

Special Helpers

Do you want to help out Camp Nefesh, but don't really know exactly what you'd like to help with? We can always use extra hands to help with activities, set up and clean up, in the kitchen, and more! If you can only help for a day or two, this is the job for you! If you're interested in being a special helper, please contact us.
